If you're like me, you will have seen dozens of hype filled pages telling you how you can earn more money than you will know what to do with through internet based marketing of your business! In fact as an Online Business Coach I can tell you that I have read hundreds of them!

You know the sort of page I mean don’t you?  The sort of pages that tell you that in the time it takes you to make a coffee and a sandwich, if only you buy into this Internet Marketing System or that Internet Based Marketing Strategy, the clients and the money will come pouring in. If only you follow their Internet Marketing System or use their Internet Based Marketing Strategy …….then you will soon be able have more clients than you know what to do with!

Let me share a secret with you about Internet Based Marketing……..are you ready for this?  Well the secret is…….you need to know what you are doing!  It’s no good going at it half heartedly and hoping that you can get extra clients.  You need to know what you are doing and do it! But once you know what you are doing it isn't difficult to keep doing it and yes you will gain new clients. There you go the big secret of Internet Based Marketing!

Let's think about some of the myths and the realities of Internet Based Marketing:

You cannot really generate new clients and earn residual income on the internet  - oh yes you can it is very possible if you are prepared to learn and apply what you learn

Simply creating a website, with content or products and services on it, will not magically get visitors – you will need to learn a variety of methods to bring in those visitors and buyers because paid for visitors rarely buy! Have you had the experience of the company who designed your website trying to persuade you to buy visitors or run "Pay Per Click" Campaigns?  Me too!  Yes it cost me a fortune too!

You need a completely unique idea to make money - this is a popular misunderstanding. Do what you do differently, more passionately or better than someone else and you are on your way!

However, despite all the myths it can seem as if getting started with Internet Based Marketing is more than a little overwhelming because of the massive amount of information available.

Four years ago when I first started to get interested in Internet Based Marketing I had the same questions and thoughts!  I found it really difficult to easily find the answers and spent more money than I care to remember educating myself about Internet Based Marketing.
